Yoga Classes

Examples of classes I teach can be found below. Contact me for further details.

Class Descriptions:

Chakra Flow Yoga

Chakra flow classes work on balancing and strengthening the physical and energetic body through the use of the chakra system. Chakras are major energy centers located along the spine that relate to different physical, mental and emotional aspects of life. The flow of postures, breath work, meditation, relaxation techniques, etc. are used to tap into and use the energy of the chakras that is already within you.

Power Yoga

A stronger, faster paced class taught in a heated room (28-30C).  Linking movement with the breath through the use of the ujayi breath and vinyasas between postures, this practice works on strengthening the entire body, while developing body awareness and clearing the mind.

Gentle Yoga

This class focuses on healing and rejuvenating the body by moving at a slower pace.  This practice includes developing foundational poses, using modifications and occasionally props to focus on stretching all areas of the body, while releasing stress and tension.

Yin/Yang Yoga

Find balance between intense strength building yang and the quiet surrender of yin.  This class starts off with the faster paced, active flow of power yoga to lengthen and stimulate muscles and strengthen our bodies.  It is followed by mindful stretching with longer held floor poses that go deeper to target the connective tissues and work to strengthen our hearts and minds.

Modified Ashtanga Primary

A modification of the Ashtanga Primary series.  This class uses the breathing (ujjayi breath) and movement techniques used specifically in Ashtanga Yoga to move through a set series of asanas (postures).  Poses may be taken out of sequence.

Yoga Flow

Dynamic and flowing yoga sequences used to develop strength, flexibility, and stability.

Gentle Meditation

A gentle flowing class using postures to stretch and warm the body.  Class ends with a guided meditation.

Gentle Repose
Classes focus on healing and rejuvenating the body and mind by moving at a slower pace to develop peace and tranquility.  The class starts with a gentle flow to link movement with breath, and then transitions into longer held yin or restorative poses combines with Thai massage assists to help bring the ind and body to a state of calm.
